SAP BTP as middleware
SAP BTP will be the middleware to manage communication between SAP S/4HANA and other systems.
How KloudData is delivering RISE with SAP S/4HANA for a NASDAQ-listed medical device company, with 13 third-party integrations on SAP BTP and a data residency architecture across two AWS regions.
A NASDAQ-listed MNC known for its FDA-approved heart monitor device, prescribed to hundreds of thousands of patients. It is a leading digital healthcare company that combines wearable biosensors (Zio ECG monitors) with cloud-based analytics and proprietary algorithms to transform heart data into actionable clinical insights.
The client’s monitoring service combines the only FDA- cleared, deep-learned algorithm verified by CCTs to generate reports with 99% physician agreement, which can lead to an accurate and timely diagnosis.
They have helped analyse about 8 million patients and delivered over 1.5 billion hours of curated heartbeat data as comprehensive reports.
The RISE with SAP S/4HANA implementation covers 7 entities with offices and manufacturing
locations across the US (California, Illinois), the UK, Japan and Netherlands.
The goal is to ensure smooth integration between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and third-party systems. This includes maintaining data consistency, enabling real-time data exchange, and supporting secure, scalable integration using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). All integration efforts must also meet security and compliance requirements.
KloudData will integrate SAP with 13 third-party systems, including:
SAP BTP sits between S/4HANA and the third-party systems, so each connection is managed
in one place.
SAP BTP will be the middleware to manage communication between SAP S/4HANA and other systems.
Integration is supported through pre-built APIs and connectors available in SAP BTP.
Additionally, data transformation logic ensures compatibility between central and regional SAP systems.

A Fiori (UI5) application is being developed to allow users to securely log in and access or input data classified as Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII), as defined by HIPAA, based on the appropriate data store.
The solution will also feature logic to anonymize sensitive data and enable visualization of user authorization profiles stored in the corporate S/4HANA system. These profiles will then be transferable to third-party software platforms used by the client.
